Flight Safety and Quality Manager (FSQM) (Miri Office)

Reporting to the Safety and Quality Manager, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated group of flight safety professionals and acts as a principal adviser to the company on all aviation safety matters.

The FSQM is accountable for the planning, organization, administration and review of the company Flight Safety, Accident Prevention and Flight Data Monitoring programs and will deliver a high standard of safety and operational excellence, with a focus on promoting a Just Culture and supporting continuous improvement.

Working in collaboration with the management team, this role is a key interface between management, employees and customers and participates in ensuring that the daily flight operations are carried out in a safe, effective and professional manner, and in accordance with regulations, Company policies and customer requirements.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Promote safety as a core value in order to maintain a positive corporate safety culture
  • Advise the Safety and Quality Manager and relevant post holders on matters concerning safety and quality in all flight operations.
  • Provide leadership, guidelines and support on the development or improvements of the Company’s Flight Safety, Accident Prevention and Flight Data Monitoring Programs and, as applicable, Crisis management and emergency response preparedness capability.
  • Act as a liaison with other aircraft operators and relevant organizations, in an effort to maintain the highest level of awareness of Flight Safety within AISB.
  • Monitors compliance with applicable regulatory standards related to Flight Safety, Accident Prevention, FDM requirements
  • Ensures that internal flight safety audits are carried out according to an annual audit plan
  • Review re-occurring risk profiles and ensure hazard identification and risk assessments are carried out when needed so that Safety Cases can be reviewed and maintained up-to-date for flight operations
  • Make recommendations to correct/prevent identified safety issues and monitor corrective/preventative actions as necessary.
  • Monitor pertinent Occurrence Reports and analyze flight safety related trends to make recommendations for corrective and/or preventative
  • Investigate any matters related to Flight Safety including the investigation of accidents and incidents and bring any recommendations for remedial action to the attention of the Safety and Quality Manager
  • Supervise and/or Conduct incident and accident investigations when necessary
  • Collect, collate, edit and disseminate Flight Safety information for the promotion of Flight Safety awareness amongst all employees within the company.
  • Periodically review statistical analysis of aviation accident data as well as special data retrievals and analyses to support safety studies and incident/accident investigations.
  • Provide regular reports to management on Flight Safety and Accident Prevention Program status and compliance and communicate flight safety issues to all relevant stakeholders in flight operations and the company, including regular newsletters
  • Monitoring trends in reporting systems and industry research data/developments to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base within the company of Flight Safety practices, procedures and standards
  • Direct Flight Safety Officers (FSO) and administrative personnel in fulfilling all departmental administrative processing requirements.
  • Fulfill Flight Safety Officer (FSO) duties, as required
  • Perform flying duty on a relevant type helicopter as necessary to have a good working knowledge of all aspects of local operations 

Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants for this position must meet the following qualifications and experience requirements and be acceptable to the MDCA as a regulatory post holder. This may require an additional interview with the regulator.

  • The applicant must be a Malaysian National and be able to obtain foreign visas to travel internationally without restrictions;
  • Hold, or have held (must be able to renew), an MDCA ATPL-H License with instrument rating and be able to pass an MDCA Class 1 Medical. Equivalent foreign licenses will be considered for conversion.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of Flight Operations Experience in multi-engine, multi-crew, IFR operations. Less experience may be considered if candidates bring added value to the safety function through other qualifications and experience.
  • Sound working knowledge of Safety, Quality and Risk Management Systems including ICAO and MCAR requirements.
  • Strong and proven skills in people management, Crew Resource Management, Fatigue Risk Management Systems, Safety Management Systems and Flight Operations Quality Assurance Systems.
  • Training and experience in Quality Auditing Principles and Systems
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Experience:

  • Current or previous Helideck Inspection experience (UK CAA Cap 437 or similar standards)
  • Prior management experience in a Safety and Quality Function
  • Quality Auditor/Lead Auditor certification
  • Knowledge/Experience with Flight Safety Quality Assurance programs
  • Formal training in Accident Investigation


Helicopter Pilot - Captains (Miri Office)


  • Malaysian Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with Instrument Rating and valid Medical.
  • 3,000 hours total flying Time.
  • 1,500 hours in Command.
  • 1,200 hours in Command Multi Engine.
  • 100 hours in Command on type and 500 hours minimum offshore experience operating to fixed platforms and moving units and should ideally hold a EC225LP Type Rating.


Senior & Mentoring Engineer (Miri Office)


  • Minimum 5 years holding DCA license maintenance experiences
  • Minimum 15 years  helicopter maintenance experiences
  • Knowledgeable in trouble shooting process, defect rectification process and aircraft certification process
  • Ensure high standard of maintenance safety oversight in place of work such as aircraft maintenance
  • Maintain high standard of personnel and work discipline
  • Knowledge of SMS (Safety Management System) process within the company
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle issues diplomatically and confidently
  • Ability to mentor other Engineers
  • Cultivate a positive work ethic


CONTRACT MANAGER (based in Kuala Lumpur)

Job Responsibilities:

The role is responsible to support the Commercial and Strategic Director in contract management which includes but is not limited to negotiating, analyzing, preparing, revising, execution and progress reporting of contracts and managing and building customer relationships with existing customers.

  • Prepares contracts and manages all changes in and addendums to existing contracts.
  • Review existing contracts and oversees contract negotiations
  • Analyzes a contract’s risk to the business
  • Prepare costing, pricing and financial analysis
  • Prepare bids, proposals and support contract negotiations
  • Analyzes all requirements and provisions in contracts, including terms and conditions, to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Monitors the performance of each signed contract
  • Customer relationship management
  • Resolve any issues relating to the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Ensures that contracts are executed in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Manage all contract documentations
  • Identifies potential improvements to existing procedures and policies
  • Prepare status reports of contracts
  • Conducts special projects as assigned


  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance or its equivalent
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in Contract management with at least five (5) years at a managerial level
  • Must have experience working in commercial, contract management or procurement departments of a large local or a multinational company
  • Work experience in the Oil and Gas industry would be advantageous
